A woman pumping gas near the I-610 says carjackers took her car and snatched her purse as she was filling up.
"Victim pumping gas when approached by several unknown males inside of silver vehicle," according to an initial police report. "One subject entered victim's vehicle from passenger side while another approached victim, snatching her purse. Subjects fled scene in victim's silver Toyota Camry and suspect vehicle."
It happened on Elysian Fields Ave. around 1:30pm Sunday.
A few hours later a man was carjacked in front of his house in New Orleans East.
"Victim outside of his home when subjects exited their vehicle, approached victim, produced guns and demanded his keys. Subjects then fled area inside victim’s vehicle."
That happened around 5:15pm in the 4700 block of Perelli Drive.
