The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has closed south-bound I-55 between Ponchatoula and LaPlace.
The highway department continues to make repairs after last month’s deadly pileups.
168 cars were involved in separate crashes when heavy fog mixed with smoke from area wildfires, reducing visibility to near zero.
Seven people died.
The north-bound lanes have been closed since the October incident and will take up to two weeks to repair.
DoTD says I-55 travelers can detour to U.S. 51.
