A driver in Laplace is killed after being ‘T-boned’ by an 18-wheeler on Airline Highway Wednesday.
According to St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre, it happened about 5:30 a.m. when a man pulled out of a gas station at the corner of Airline and Windsor Street. The crash claimed the life of 28-year-old Ryan Albertson of Madison, Missouri.
Louisiana State Police say as Albertson pulled out of the gas station parking lot he drove directly in the path of an 18-wheeler, which smashed, into the side of the driver’s car.
The unidentified driver of the car was killed and his male passenger was critically injured. EMS had to use equipment to extract the passenger from the wreckage.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured. The Louisiana State Police are investigating the crash.
