1 dead, one injured in two shootings just hours apart says NOPD

Two shootings happened in New Orleans early Wednesday morning says authorities.

The first shooting happened at around 11:54 p.m. near the intersection of Lakeshore and Saint Bernard Avenue.


An initial NOPD report says, “There is a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound(s).  He arrived at the hospital via private conveyance.  The initial call was received at 11:54 p.m.  No further information is available at this time.”

The victim’s condition is unknown at this time.

The second shooting happened at around 2:43 a.m. in the 1300 block of Flanders Street in Algiers.

Police say a 49-year-old man was shot several times. New Orleans EMS pronounced the victim deceased on scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.
