“As we transition to the full recovery…this is a very important time, particularly for business interruption. We know that one in five businesses that are impacted from a disaster will not come back, they will not reopen, so it is about getting to them early.”
That is a national statistic St. Tammany Parish Chief Economic Development Officer Christopher Masingill said during Parish President Mike Cooper’s Hurricane Ida update.
Masingill says the parish launched its first phase of its Business Disaster Recovery Action Plan.
This included an assessment of businesses damaged by Hurricane Ida. This phase also focuses on getting the word out to businesses about disaster resources available to them. All types of businesses are eligible says Masingill.
Masingill urges all Northshore businesses to reach out to them to find all the help that is available.
