1 missing in lake after boat hits Hwy 11

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued four people and are searching for a fifth after a boat hit the Hwy 11 bridge Saturday evening.

The incident happened around 7 p.m.

"A pleasure craft with five people aboard allided with the drawbridge and one of the occupants was ejected from the vessel," the Coast Guard said. "The other four people were taken to a University Medical Center New Orleans by Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for further medical care."

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are helping in the search.
