Since I am a strong supporter of trans-women and trans-men and their right to be the gender they identify with, many in my audience seemed to think I support trans-women - who are born male - competing in women’s sporting events. But that is the wrong assumption.

One big problem that is poisoning political debate in America and the assumption that if you support one thing then you must support everything related. If I support the trans community then I must be in favor of biological men competing against females in sports and that’s not true. Here’s another example: If I fail to denounce lies about former President Biden then I must be in favor of open borders. That, also, is a false assumption.

Trans-women - biological men transitioning into females - should not be allowed to compete in female sporting events. This is a national controversy, but no where does it loom larger than in California this weekend.

Saturday, female athletes will compete against a trans-woman - born a biological male - in the California Interscholastic Federation in Moorpark, CA. Reese Hogan will be among the female athletes competing and she has finished 2nd. Hogan lost to a trans-woman. Without the trans-woman athlete in the competition, Reese Hogan believes she would have won.

Hogan’s parents bashed CA Gov. Gavin Newsom in an interview with Fox News Digital. “As a parent witnessing the current state of high school athletics, I am deeply disappointed by Gov. Newsom’s recent comments regarding trangsgender participation in girls’ sports,” read a statement from Hogan’s parents. The statement from the parents also read, “As parents, we don’t ask for a path cleared of obstacles; we ask for a level playing field where hard work and biological reality are respected.”

I agree with Reese Hogan’s parents. My first-hand observation of biological men competing as females goes back to 1978 when I was the announcer for the New Orleans Nets of the World Team Tennis league. I was personally into tennis at the time and played in celebrity matches with Jimmy Conners and John McEnroe.

Bjorn Borg was one of the male players on the team and Renee Richards was a female player. Renee Richards was a transexual and had gone through the full sex change operation. From courtside, it occurred to me that Richards had a distinct advantage of strength over the women she was competing against. There was no comparison between how hard Renee Richards could hit the ball compared to the women. I felt that was unfair and Richards' presence as a female player in the World Team Tennis League did spark controversy, but in the end she was allowed to play.

It should be noted that there are many cases across the country where biological women have beaten biological males - trans-women - in sporting events, but there should be no doubt that anyone born a biological male would have an advantage over a biological female in a sporting event.

The fact that we don’t hear about trans-males - biological females - trying to compete against biological males in male sporting events is a testament to the fact that the average man has innate strength that the average woman does not possess.

While I do not think trans-women should compete against biological women in sports - I support trans-men and trans-women in society 100%! This is America and people should be allowed to live a life that feels congruent to their most inner instincts. And if anyone doesn’t understand that - that’s okay. We don’t have to understand everyone in every way. I don’t understand the straight men who have a passion to wear women’s clothes - they are cross-dressers. Since I’m not gay I can say that I don’t fully understand homosexuality and that’s okay. I support all rights for the LGBTQ community.

It will be interesting to see if the trans-woman - the biological male - again beats Reese Hogan and all of the other females participating. Regardless of what happens - if an athlete is born male then he should compete only against men even if he/she is a trans-woman.
