A shooting in LaPlace killed an 11-year-old girl and a 50-year-old man Friday night, the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office said.
"Deputies responded to a report of gunfire at a house in the 1300 block of North Sugar Ridge Drive at 11:48 p.m. and found three victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds," the sheriff's office said. "Two of the victims, an 11-year-old girl and a 50-year-old man, succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at a local hospital"
Deputies say a third individual was grazed by the gunfire.
