A pregnant 17-year-old who was shot in the head in an apparent road rage incident has died after being taken off life support, according to Tangipahoa Parish authorities.
Katelynn Strate's family kept her alive long enough for doctors to deliver her baby by emergency Caesarean section. The 28-year-old infant is said to be doing well in in neonatal intensive care.
The sheriff's office says 54-year-old Barry West is now charged with second degree murder for the Sunday incident.
