U.S. Marshals Service deputies arrested two men in Memphis in connection with the shooting death of a gas station clerk in Kenner at the end of last month.
Lamonte Loggins (right) and Eric Rodgers are accused of killing Abdel Ghader Sylia, after Sylia handed over cash and was made to get down on his knees. The crime happened at the Shell station in the 3500 block of Williams Blvd.
Police say they were able to identify Loggins and Rodgers as suspects through DNA evidence left at the scene by the subject who fired the shot that murdered Sylia. Cops say it was Loggins who pulled the trigger.
According to police, detectives were able to piece together Rodgers, Loggins' brother, as his accomplice from witness statements and other evidence.
Loggins was booked for first degree murder. Rodgers is booked on second degree murder. Both await extradition to Louisiana to face trial.
