Two workers at a fish processing plant in lower Plaquemines Parish were killed Friday morning in an incident involving hazardous materials, the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office said.
It happened at the Daybrook Fisheries plant in Empire.
According to their web site, Daybrook processes menhaden into fishmeal, fish oil, and other products.
The sheriff's office said Plaquemines Parish fire units and a HAZMAT response team are on the scene.
The incident is under investigation.
