Another game-time burglary of a professional athlete: Saints defensive end Cam Jordan's house was broken into while the Saints were playing the San Francisco 49ers on September 14.
Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto says they identified the suspects shortly after the crime was reported. All are from the Atlanta area.
"The two in custody are still in Georgia. They have not been extradited back to Louisiana as of yet but they soon will be," said Lopinto.
The sheriff said this fits the pattern of other recent burglaries targeting professional athletes while they were competing.
"It looks like they target high profile individuals, Cam being one of them," Lopinto said.
The sheriff said U.S. Marshals and the FBI are searching for the two remaining suspects.
While it may just be coincidence that the suspects come from the region that's home to one of the Saints bitterest rivals, Lopinto joked that he hoped Jordan appreciated how swiftly authorities made the arrests.
"I sic'ed on them like Cam Jordan sic'ing on Matt Ryan, right?" Lopinto cracked. "We're coming after you and were going to catch you and sure enough, that's what they did and I hope Cam appreciates that."
