A city panel eliminates one proposal to redevelop the site of the abandoned Six Flags amusement park and gives two others more time to fine-tune their proposals, the Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate reports.
One finalist, a partnership of Kiernan West LLC and S.H.I.E.L.D. 1, involves former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Saints linebacker Demario Davis, and Buffalo Bills defensive back Josh Norman. They propose a series of education centers, an "urban farm," and a transportation and logistics hub for the site at I-10 and I-510 in New Orleans East.
The other proposal is from Bayou Phoenix. It involves a hotel, indoor water park, travel center, sports complex, and logistics hub.
