The St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office launched an initiative targeting violent crime in the parish, which resulted in 32 people arrested and 21 guns seized.
On Wednesday, Sheriff Mike Tregre says the agency’s SWAT Team led by Lt. Jake Boudreaux, acted on tips stemming from recent violent crimes in the parish.

“We want these illegally used guns off our streets and out of our neighborhoods,” Sheriff Mike Tregre said. “These enhanced patrols will continue as needed to ensure the safety of our citizens, and anytime
