Drugs, cash, and a Porsche 911 are among items seized after local narcotics agents arrested four men following a months-long, multi agency investigation, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office announced Thursday.
The investigation, in partnership with the New Orleans Police Department and federal agencies, led to the arrests of 46-year-old Tony Tran, 41-year-old Bill Vo, 38-year-old Five Vo, and 37-year-old Jonathan Nguyen.
According to NOLA.com, Tran was an assistant district attorney for St. John the Baptist Parish, and was fired when the D.A.'s office learned of the investigation.
The sheriff's office says the operation resulted in the seizure of more than 400 pounds of marijuana and THC products, along with MDMA, ketamine, psilocybin, and methamphetamine.
"These arrests are the result of a months-long investigation initiated by the JPSO Narcotics Division," said Capt. Jason Rivarde of JPSO "Tran and Bill Vo are believed to be a part of a wide-ranging distribution network assisted by Five Vo. Nguyen is believed to have been a distributor that was part of the network."
In addition to the drugs, authorities say they seized approximately $135,000 in cash, three gold bars worth around $24,000, and three luxury vehicles.
Jonathan Nguyen, Bill Vo, and Five Vo are being held in the Jefferson Parish jail while Tony Tran is being held in New Orleans.
