The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office says it fired four deputies and then arrested then after an investigation into unauthorized use-of-force.
"The incident occurred in November 2025 and came to light once a citizen complaint was filed with the Investigative Services Bureau," the sheriff's office said Friday. "The internal investigation began around November 20, 2025.
Sgt. Kurt Coulon, Jr., and detectives Bruce Dave, Damien Anthony, and Bryant Parish all face charges of malfeasance in office and charges related to simple battery.
"These allegations, if proved true, violate the very core of our mission which promises humane and compassionate treatment of those in our care and custody," said Sheriff Susan Hutson.
