Kent Broussard is a retired accountant. But he decided that he wouldn't let his age get in the way of a dream of his that started in 1968: Playing the sousaphone for LSU.

Here we are in 2025, Broussard joins the Newell Normand show as a member of the LSU marching band. He breaks down the intense process that it takes to come aboard the prestigious marching band, and the importance of never giving up.

"I didn't do this for individual attention. I did this because I love the sound and that the students come together as a group," Broussard says. "Most of the band works for years to get to this point, and most people don't see all the work that goes into it."

Broussard talks about what it was like, playing that first week at Death Valley.

"We do not stop. I don't know how many songs we played that first game. It was a long day, but it was a rewarding day because it was the first time, and that's something special."
