A 73rd name has been added to the list of New Orleans Catholic church officials "credibly accused" of sexual abuse. The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate reports the late Rev. Robert Cooper was accused of molesting a child in a downtown hotel in the 1970s.
The alleged victim in that case, Tim Trahan, did not bring his accusations to the church until 2003.
Trahan says Cooper molested him along with another priest, the Rev. J. Luis Fernandez. Fernandez's name is not on the list of credibly accused although he was suspended from performing any clerical duties.
