A Louisiana man is dead after he and a group of swimmers were swept away in dangerous rip current off Henderson Beach near Destin Florida.
According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, a 58-year-old man died Saturday evening. The man was found and pulled from the water. He was rushed to the local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
As of today, authorities have not released the man’s identity.
This is the second Louisiana resident who was killed while swimming in the waters near the popular vacation spot.
On Thursday, Sept. 2, a 14-year-old boy from Louisiana was found dead at nearby Miramar Beach after he went missing while swimming in the same water.
