Mother's Day is almost here, and if you are thinking about boiling crawfish for mom this weekend, you are not the only one. It turns out that boiling up some mudbugs for mom is a popular party:
"This is definitely in the top three most-busiest weekends of crawfish season," said Crawfish App co-founder Laney King.
So if you haven't placed an order with your local seafood shop, better do it quick
"I think Saturday, you might be a little late," King said. "So definitely, if you're planning on treating mom to crawfish this weekend, get your sack reserved."
King says sacks of live crawfish average about $2.25 per pound, statewide. She says that's pretty close to last year's prices.
And she says we're closer to the end of crawfish season than we are to the beginning, so enjoy your backyard crawfish boils this year while you can.
