Police say a suspect stole an ambulance in New Orleans, then slammed it into a car in Slidell.
Two people were hospitalized with what cops call serious injuries.

"Around 9:30pm, Slidell Police assisted the Louisiana State Police and STPSO, who were trying to stop the stolen ambulance," Slidell Police posted. "Spike strips were successfully deployed to slow down the ambulance (thank God because this could have been a lot worse)."
Authorities say after police flattened the tires on the stolen New Orleans EMS vehicle, the driver was able to continue a short distance and slam into a car.
"The suspect ran a red light and crashed into a vehicle near the CVS at Gause Blvd and Pearl Acres."
Cops then caught the ambulance thief.
"The suspect was taken into custody. The occupants of the other vehicle were transported to a hospital for treatment."
