Thunderstorms have already posed some problems for the LSU Tigers baseball team at the College World Series, and storms could cause even more problems over the next couple of days.

There's a possibility that Tuesday afternoon and evening games at the College World Series will be pushed back because of heavy weather in the Omaha area. However, National Weather Service Omaha meteorologist Brian Barjenbruch says there's a chance those storms stay away.

"The big question is: will they actually impact the Omaha area?" Barjenbruch said. "We're going to be keeping an eye on things. I would say there is a decent chance for scattered thunderstorms (but) not quite as widespread as we saw yesterday. It's more just a question of how unlucky might we be if one develops over or near the stadium."

Barjenbruch says after today, conditions in Omaha will clear, allowing the World Series to continue without any further delays. He also says temperatures will rise to levels that are familiar to LSU fans.

"It looks like the precipitation after, say, noon (or) midday tomorrow is going to be clearing out," Barjenbruch said. "Once we get into Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, at least by Nebraska standards, we'll be getting pretty toasty with heat index values in the 100 to 110 range."

Barjenbruch has this advice for Tigers fans already in Omaha and for those planning a last-minute trip to the College World Series.

"You definitely want to stay hydrated and keep an eye out for those clouds starting to billow up in case you need to avoid some lightning out there," Barjenbruch says.
