It turns out reports of float riders in the Krewe of Thoth pelting federal agents with parade throws were in error: the New Orleans Police Department announced Monday afternoon that investigators determined it was ordinary parade goers holding signs declaring opposition to Immigration and Customs Enforcement that received the barrage.

"Information received that items were thrown at federal agents themselves were found to be incorrect," the NOPD Public Affairs Division said.

All of the riders were removed from float 32 of the parade, which continued down the route completely empty.

The police department says the NOPD is working with Krewe of Thoth leadership as they investigate.

As of Monday afternoon, police said no arrests have been made.

During the Krewe of Carrollton, a float was emptied after reports of krewe members aggressively throwing items at law enforcement officers. No charges were brought in that case.
