Armed passenger tries to hijack JeT Bus

Melee on a bus in Gretna as an armed woman reportedly hijacked a Jefferson Transit bus with passengers on board.
It happened Tuesday evening on the Westbank.
A woman allegedly climbed into the driver seat of the bus while the driver was on break outside the bus.
Unable take off with the bus, she allegedly pulled a pistol and started screaming at the driver, who re-boarded the bus to stop her.
The driver complied with her demands to drive rather than let the woman continue to threaten passengers.
With her in command, he drove off.
However, the bus was pulled over a mile later and police took the woman into custody.
It was later determined the woman's firearm was a BB gun.
According to the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate the hijacker is facing a charge of carjacking and seven counts of kidnapping.
