New Orleans Police officers arrested a man they detained shortly after a homicide for the crime.
Police say shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, officers were sent to N. Claiborne Ave. and Desire St. to investigate a call of a car crash along with shots fired at that location.
Officers arriving on the scene said they found a 41-year-old man in one of the vehicles with a fatal gunshot wound.
During the investigation, cops detained 48-year-old Terrance Leavell, and after further investigation, booked him for manslaughter.
Leavell also faces charges of possession of firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies and illegal use of weapons.
