Police in New Orleans say a bail bondsman was shot Tuesday night in the Little Woods neighborhood while attempting to arrest a man who jumped bail.
The 46-year-old bondsman was taken by EMS to the hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
The bail jumper is 32-year-old Corey Hale was located 13100 block Bishop C. L. Morton Sr. Drive.
When the bondsman attempted to arrest Hale for skipping out on his bail he allegedly resisted, produced a gun, and fired a shot, striking the victim.
Hale was arrested by police and booked into the Orleans Parish jail on two outstanding warrants from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office and Westwego police.
