New Orleans Police say they caught the armed man who robbed the Hancock-Whitney Bank on Canal St. shortly before 12:30 this afternoon.
"Officers quickly established a perimeter in the nearby area in search of the suspect, with assistance from Special Operations Division officers," NOPD said in a statement. "At about 12:52 p.m., officers detained a male suspect without incident at the intersection of North Dupre and Dumaine streets."
Police say investigators later determined the man was the perpetrator of the robbery.
"Detectives are also investigating a report of a vehicle in the area having sustained gunfire believed to be related to this incident," police said.
No injuries were reported.
