If you’ve been keeping the faith that Billy Joel would return to New Orleans, this is the time. Officials today announced that he and another rock legend, Stevie Nicks, will team up for a show at the Superdome.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers will play in New Orleans on October 18th, 2025. Tickets go on sale Friday with presale beginning on the edge of Monday, February 17. Presale signup is live at the Superdome website.

According to the show's promoters, they didn’t have to go to extremes to convince Joel to play the Superdome.

“Honestly, it wasn’t hard at all. Billy Joel is very selective about which markets he wants to play and who he wants to play with," Grant Lyman, president of Live Nation Southeast, said. “New Orleans has been on his list to get back to for some time."

Superdome General Manager Evan Holmes echoed Lyman's sentiments.

“Billy’s wanted to come back here for a while. It’s been 21 years since he’s been in the Superdome (and) another eight years since he’s been in the Smoothie King Center," Holmes said, noting that Nicks has played New Orleans more recently.

Joel and Nicks have been playing a handful of shows together over the last couple of years. Both play their own hits, but have teamed up on a few songs at previous shows. In that number, "Stop Draggin' my Heart Around." Joel sings the parts originally performed by Tom Petty. They have also teamed up on Joel's "And So it Goes" at previous concerts.

The two also performed at Jazz Fest in 2013, albeit separately. Coincidentally, 2013 was the last time New Orleans hosted the Super Bowl. While Joel and Nicks didn't start the fire of big ticket events going on in the city, Holmes believes they'll keep the city's hot streak going. In fact, Holmes says he expects both rock icons to draw a capacity crowd of fans from around the world, especially because they’re playing only five shows together.

“I think what we’ll see is what we saw during Taylor Swift, people in other parts of the country looking and saying, “Hmmm. Where can I go?” I think New Orleans is going to stand out," Holmes said.
