New Orleans Police are investigating a pair of shootings Friday night.

The first occurred in the Seventh District on Read Boulevard between Irby and Carter Streets.


A male victim with a non-fatal gunshot wound to the hand arrived at a local hospital via private conveyance.

The incident was first reported at about 10:29 p.m. on February 19, but was not confirmed as a shooting until about 1:19 a.m. on February 20.

Meanwhile, in the Fourth District, Algiers off General Meyer and Shirley Drive, another shooting was reported.

Reports show a male victim with a non-fatal gunshot wound to the hand arriving at a local hospital via private conveyance.

The incident was first reported at about 11:37 p.m. on February 19, but was not confirmed as a shooting until about 2:58 a.m. on February 20.

NOPD has not said if the shootings, in which both victims were injured in the hand, are connected.
