Authorities are searching for a man who is suspected of leaving an infant in a car to die.
St. Mary Parish Sheriffs are on the hunt for 53-year old Ervin Melancon of Breaux Bridge on a charge of second-degree murder.
WWL-TV reports the cause of the infant's death has not been determined. Melancon is suspected of abandoning the infant in a car on Louisiana Highway 317 as it crosses over the intracoastal canal in North Bend.
St. Mary's Sheriffs are asking anyone with any information on Melancon's whereabouts are urged to call Crimestoppers.
