The body of a missing man who fell from a barge into the Mississippi River has been found.
WWL-TV reports that Harbor Police discovered Darrel Robertson’s body near in the river near Harahan on Monday. The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy on Robertson’s body on Tuesday.
The Coast Guard launched a search early Saturday morning after receiving a call that Robertson had fallen off a barge on which he was working. Rescue crews searched the river for Robertson’s body for nearly 24 hours before the Coast Guard called off the search.
