The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office has recovered a body from Lake Pontchartrain, and the New Orleans Police Department is investigating.
A 911 call led to the sheriff's office mobilizing it's Land, Air, and Sea Emergency Rescue team. After locating the body, the remains were brought to the Bonnabel Boat Launch.
"The NOPD is investigating an unclassified death involving an unidentified male found in Lake Pontchartrain," said New Orleans Police Public Information Officer Gary Scheets. "The investigation is currently being conducted by the NOPD Third District."
No details on the body's identity, or even gender, or approximate age have been released.
