The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office says deputies Friday recovered a body believed to be that of 54-year-old Roland Emile Messa of Harahan.
Messa drove his truck into the Mississippi River last weekend at the Chalmette Ferry Landing, the sheriff's office said.
The body was discovered shortly before noon Friday in the river near Poydras.
The sheriff's office turned the body over to the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office for autopsy.
