Two teenagers accused of robbing and fatally shooting a Bogalusa man have been found guilty of second-degree murder and armed robbery charges.
According to Washington Parish District Attorney Warren Montgomery, the jury convicted Aaron Little, Jr., 19, and Willie Cherry, Jr., 17, after two hours of deliberating. Both face mandatory life sentences for the murder charge.
Prosecutors argued that in February of 2021, Little and Cherry shot Larmond Godbold in the chest during a drug deal in Bogalusa. Godbold later died at a hospital. A third suspect in the case pleaded guilty to manslaughter and armed robbery and testified against Cherry and Little during the trial.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 11.
