New Orleans Police say a 34-year-old woman pulled out a gun and fired it at a man shortly before one o' clock this morning in the French Quarter.
"A verbal domestic dispute escalated when the suspect brandished a firearm and shot the victim in the leg," according to an initial police report.
It happened at the intersection of Bourbon and Iberville Streets.
"Following the incident, the victim managed to drive himself to the hospital for treatment. The suspect was subsequently apprehended by law enforcement."
NOPD identifies the suspect at Julie Paxton.
She was charged with aggravated battery by shooting.
