After his record-setting run to a national championship during his final year at LSU, it’s safe to say quarterback Joe Burrow will always sit among the all-time favorite sports stars with Tiger fans and in the state of Louisiana as a whole.
But now it appears Burrow’s profile is rising to new heights in his home state as well.
Burrow just completed his third season under center for the Cincinnati Bengals in his native Ohio after getting chosen #1 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, and in that time, he’s led the team to two winning seasons and a trip to the Super Bowl.
So perhaps it’s not surprising that Burrow was recently named the most popular celebrity in Cincinnati, ending the long-running streak by a formidable competitor: Fiona the hippo.
The Cincinnati Zoo, where Fiona resides, tweeted out a congratulatory message last week.
It’s safe to say Burrow may never have bigger shoes to fill.
