It became a reality at the peak of the pandemic. Now it’s here to stay. The New Orleans City Council has moved to legalize outdoor entertainment, indefinitely extending the business model that kept entertainment venues and musicians afloat. Officials will now craft an ordinance proposal to be considered for a vote at a future meeting.

Travel demand continues to surge as the hospitality and leisure sector rebounds. That’s showing up in quarterly reports this earnings season. The latest example comes from Expedia, which crushed expectations thanks to a pickup in travel demand. Both adjusted earnings and revenue were better than anticipated for the online travel company. Expedia stock is up 6-percent premarket.
