OPEC+ ministers have agreed to boost oil supply from August to cool prices, which have climbed to 2-1/2 year highs as the global economy recovers from the pandemic. The group, which includes OPEC countries and allies like Russia, will increase supply by a further 2 million barrels per day until at least December. Crude oil is sharply lower this morning, trading around $70.10 a barrel.
Pandemic restrictions on Florida-based cruise ships will remain in place after a federal appeals court temporarily blocked a previous ruling that sided with a Florida lawsuit challenging the regulations. The decision by an appeals court was filed at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, just minutes before a Tampa judge’s previous ruling on the CDC restrictions was set to take effect. The judges’ issuance of a temporary stay keeps the CDC regulations regarding Florida-based cruise ships in place while the CDC appeals the original decision.
