Business: Staggered oil production in LA after Ida

Oil and gas production is staggering after Hurricane Ida tore through Louisiana, with nearly 75% of production in the Gulf still offline.

Royal Dutch Shell, the largest oil producer in the Gulf, yesterday canceled some export cargoes due to damage to offshore facilities, signaling energy losses will continue for weeks. Shell owns about 80% of the Mars offshore oilfield, and in total pumps about 332,000 barrels of oil per day from its eight facilities in the region.


After temporarily canceling all of its trips due to the pandemic, Disney Cruise Lines is preparing to bring more of its ships back to Florida.

Disney Magic and Disney Fantasy will both sail out of ports in Florida in October.   Magic is scheduled to resume sailing out of Miami on October 28, while the Fantasy will sail out of Port Canaveral on October 9. Guests who do not show proof of vaccination will not be allowed to board the ship.
