In an attempt to hang on to its employees, Walmart says it plans to have two-thirds of its hourly store workers transition to full-time by the end of the fiscal year. That means about 740,000 of Walmart’s 1.2 million hourly store workers will be full-time by Jan. 31, 2022. Walmart says the new full-time employees will also have consistent schedules from week to week.
Washington has delivered aid to industries hammered by the pandemic, with restaurants and performance venues getting billions. Now operators of gyms, fitness centers and related facilities want theirs. Advocates are hoping that the GYMS Act, a bill that would provide $30 billion in aid, could end up becoming part of the infrastructure package
