The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway today started collecting tolls again from drivers headed south-bound over the bridge.
The bridge had suspended tolls after Hurricane Ida, giving people who evacuated to the north one less thing to worry about as they returned home to check on their property.
Most drivers pay a $5 toll to come across the bridge from the Northshore. Drivers of vehicles with toll tags pay $3.
There is no toll to go north-bound.
