A ten-year old child was struck by falling bullet around 10pm last night.
NOPD suspects the bullet was fired into the sky by someone celebrating the end of the year.
The shooting incident took place near Edgelake Court and Crowder Boulevard in New Orleans East.
The child was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
There is no update on the child’s condition.
A falling bullet has as much velocity returning to earth as it had when fired from a gun.
NOPD is asking for the public’s help to find the person who fired the weapon.
