The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office says a concerned citizen tipped deputies off to a drug dealing operation.

According to the sheriff's office, the complaint led to them opening a narcotics investigation in the Eagle Pointe neighborhood near Slidell.

"The investigation led to a traffic stop on Spartan Drive, during which the driver, Dannie Campbell, was placed under arrest after cocaine and a semi-automatic .380 handgun were located in his vehicle" Thursday night, said Lt. Suzanne Carboni, public information officer for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Campbell's home, and say they found cocaine, another semi-automatic handgun, crack, psilocybin mushrooms, methamphetamine, marijuana, unlawfully possessed oxycodone tablets and drug paraphernalia associated with the street level distribution of illicit narcotics.

"Thank you again to the concerned citizen who called in this tip," said Sheriff Randy Smith. "Keeping drugs out of our neighborhoods takes a cooperative effort between law enforcement and our citizens. If you suspect someone is selling drugs in our community, please report it. We will investigate."
