The co-defendant in the federal tax fraud against New Orleans District Attorney Jason Williams has been arrested as WWLTV reports.
New Orleans attorney Nicole Burdett was arrested in Baton Rouge on Wednesday her attorney confirmed to the news station. She was released a short time later after she surrendered herself to police following an arrest warrant issued for her arrest.
As WWLTV reports sources say Burdett’s warrant stems from alleged fraud involving a 2018 Medicaid application. Very few details have been released on her arrest and the allegations against her.
Both Williams and Burdett are set for trial in federal court on July 18. They face 11 counts of tax fraud from allegations they conspired to cheat on William’s taxes by inflating business deductions for five years.
