A U.S. Coast Guard medevac helicopter crew airlifted two passengers from two different Carnival Cruise ships off the Louisiana coast over the weekend.

On Saturday, a Coast Guard medevac helicopter crew airlifted a woman aboard the Carnival Glory. The passenger was experiencing symptoms of internal bleeding says a Coast Guard spokesperson. The Carnival Glory was about 72 miles from the Louisiana Coast when the passenger, along with an accompanying ship nurse, were airlifted off the ship and taken to University Medical Hospital in New Orleans.

The next day, another passenger on the cruise ship Carnival Dream also had to be airlifted from the ship by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The ship was about 23 miles south of Southwest Pass Louisiana according to a Coast Guard report.

Coast Guard Watchstanders got the call at about 10:58 a.m. stating a man aboard the Carnival Dream was experiencing issues breathing stemming from a previous medical condition.

The Coast Guard launched a medevac helicopter from the Coast Guard Air Station in New Orleans. The helicopter crew arrived on the scene and hoisted the passenger along with an accompanying Carnival Dream nurse from the ship. They too were taken to University Medical Center.

Both passengers were transported to the hospital in stable condition.
