Coast Guard officials are searching for a fisherman who fell overboard from a commercial fishing boat off the Louisiana Coast.
Coast Guard watchstanders in New Orleans received the call from the vessel Kenneth Cole around 2 a.m. Saturday. The person making the report told officials that his boat received word from another boat, the Miss Winnie, that a person had fallen off the ship and into the Gulf of Mexico about 138 miles southwest of Port Fourchon.
The Coast Guard sent two aircrews and a cutter to the location to search for the overboard boater, whose name has not been released. Officials say the search will continue as weather conditions will allow.
