The U.S. Coast Guard had to rush a man to the hospital after he experienced seizures while 100 miles off the Louisiana coast Friday.
"Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a call at approximately 7:19 p.m. stating a man was exhibiting seizure like symptoms aboard the 283-foot vessel Sanco Spirit," the Coast Guard reported.
Watchstanders dispatched a Dolphin rescue helicopter from Air Station New Orleans and an Ocean Sentry airplane from the Aviation Training Center in Mobile. The helicopter crew hoisted the ailing crewmember and flew him to West Jefferson Medical Center where he was reportedly in stable condition.
