A fishing boat crewmember is in the hospital after the Coast Guard rescued him when he experienced stroke-like symptoms.
The Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders received a call around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday from the vessel Sea Charger requesting a medevac for the stricken crewmember. Coast Guard boat crews arrived at the boat's location and transferred the man to one of their vessels before bringing him back to land.
The man was taken to a West Bank hospital. His condition is reportedly stable.
