New Orleans Police say the suspect in a homicide earlier this month on St. Roch Avenue has been arrested in Dallas.
Detectives say 31-year-old Erick Garrison shot and killed Brandon Hayward in the 3100 block of St. Roch Ave. on August 3, shortly after 12:30 a.m.
"NOPD Violent Offender Warrant Squad detectives, along with the U.S. Marshals NOLA Task Force conducted a fugitive investigation and determined that Garrison was in the Dallas, Texas area," said police. "Through a collaborative effort with the U.S. Marshals Dallas Task Force, Garrison was located and arrested there. "
Garrison is currently being held as a fugitive while details are worked out to extradite him to New Orleans, where he is to be booked on one count of second degree murder.
