An Armed robbery in Metairie last night led to a police chase and JPSO wounding a man.
"The Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office is investigating a deputy-involved shooting," Sergeant Brandon Veal said in an email. "Around 10:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery in the 4400 block of Hearst St."
He says when cops got there, they located and detained a woman who matched the description of one of the armed robbery suspects.
"Deputies also located an adult male who matched the description of the other perpetrator. As they approached the male suspect, he took off running."
Veal says they chased the suspect to the 2600 block of Houma Blvd.
"After deputies caught up to the suspect, he was observed holding a firearm. While attempting to take the suspect into custody, one of the deputies fired their service weapon at him. The suspect was struck at least one time and was transported to an area hospital for treatment."
